Forgive the long title, but it’s my favorite quote of the season – thanks Elf!
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear
Some may say before Thanksgiving is too early to decorate , but I personally want Christmas to last as long as possible – a month isn’t enough!
So this weekend I began the process of making it look like Christmas threw up on my apartment.. my favorite thing to do 🙂
I kid, but in reality, I love having a festive apartment. But those decorations can REALLY add up! So here are my tips for some affordable decor..
1. Check out the dollar tree. This was my moms idea for us to go the other day and I was shocked at how cute the things there really were! And the best part is that everything’s a dollar. I already had the tree.. but I got all other decorations for under $30! I’m not done yet, but it’s a start.
2. Use things in an unconventional way. Wreaths don’t have to go on the door.. they can go on the wall! Ornaments, too. Don’t have a mantle? Use the counter. The possibilities are endless!
3. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Not in the normal way, but don’t throw out old decorations. If you still have a Christmas painting or old ornaments, still use them! Then you’ll accumulate items instead of having to get all new decor each year.
I still have a long way to go.. I’m thinking pillows, twinkle lights, and more wreaths! Have you already decorated? What are your top tips?
